Aleene's has been the name behind the gold bottle of Tacky Glue since 1950, when a Californian florist mixed up an adhesive strong enough to hold silk flower petals and started a craft-shelf institution. Three-quarters of a century later, it is still the glue every other craft glue gets measured against.
