Sydney-born painter and muralist Brad Robson (b. 1976) takes the icons we think we know — Marilyn, Mickey, Winnie the Pooh — and puts them through something closer to an interrogation. Sweeping, erasing squeegee strokes are dragged back across each portrait until the familiar pop-culture surface breaks open and something rawer and more alive looks out.
