After leaving school, Michael spent a decade working as a forklift driver while honing his talents as a freelance greeting-card artist. His distinctive style quickly drew the attention of major greeting-card publishers, and the growing success of his illustrations eventually allowed him to follow his true passion—becoming a full-time artist in 1990.
Since then, Michael has exhibited in New York and collaborated with Wedgwood to create a full range of ceramics featuring one of his beloved teddy-bear characters. Today, his fine art is showcased in galleries and homes across the UK and around the world.
