Rosa Gallery's version (PB29) is everything you'd want from a primary blue: transparent, granulating, single pigment, with lightfastness that will see your work through decades. On cold-pressed paper with plenty of water it granulates with real character — that chalky, atmospheric texture that separates watercolour from every other medium. Mix it back with Burnt Sienna for a ready-made shadow, or forward with Carmine for a rich violet. It knows its job and does it beautifully.
