What it is
The Pilot Parallel Pen is a calligraphy pen with a flat nib formed from two parallel plates. The design lets you draw crisp italic strokes from the broad edge and fine hairlines from the corner — all from the same pen.
The nib sizes
Six widths from 1.5mm to 6.0mm, each colour-coded on the cap. The 1.5mm and 2.4mm suit smaller-scale lettering and modern calligraphy work; 3.0mm and 3.8mm are the workhorse sizes for italic and chancery; the 4.5mm and 6.0mm produce the broad, confident display strokes you'd otherwise need a brush for.
How it works
The two-plate nib construction lets the pen blend ink with another Pilot Parallel Pen — touch two nibs together and the inks mix on the page, giving you gradient and rainbow effects without changing pens between colours.

The pen comes with two Pilot ink cartridges (red and black), a cartridge converter for bottled ink, and a nib cleaner card.
