The square canvas is worked in mixed media, with acrylic and ink layered through dribbles, scrapings and textured marks until the coast reads as light and weather rather than literal detail.
Potter discovered the vibrancy of acrylic inks decades ago and has used them ever since, painting quickly and instinctively. A former archaeology graduate turned full-time artist, he now paints from a studio at Embleton on the Northumberland coast. This is an original, unique and signed by the artist.
