Star in its XL size is a 100 x 100 cm Michael Abrams original, mixed media on canvas, framed to 108 x 108 cm. The publisher's notes give the cast: a horse, a person and rosettes, in red, yellow, blue and green. It belongs to the bold, large-scale side of his output, where the humour is drawn big enough to read across a room.
Abrams drove a forklift and drew greeting cards before painting full-time from 1990, and the card-artist's instinct for a single clear idea has never left him. His pictures, as his publisher puts it, invite you to see the world through the lens of the innocent.
