Liquitex Soluvar Matte is a removable final varnish for acrylic and oil paintings. Unlike the permanent Liquitex varnishes it can be taken off with mineral spirits or turpentine, so a painting can be cleaned and varnished again in years to come.
It dries to a flat, non-reflective finish. On acrylics, Liquitex advise an isolation coat of gloss medium first, so that the varnish can be removed without disturbing the paint. Stir well, apply thinly with a soft, wide brush on a fully dry painting, and work with good ventilation.
