At a glance:
• 15mm chisel nib for large surface fills • Pigment-based water-based acrylic ink • Permanent and lightfast on most surfaces once dry • Refillable with Liquitex Acrylic Ink • Replaceable nibs • 16 colours including 2 metallics
The largest nib in Liquitex's new acrylic marker range — a 15mm chisel for big surface coverage, large-format lettering, mural details, and any time you'd otherwise reach for a brush but want the pump-valve control of a marker.
Liquitex was founded in Cincinnati in 1955 by Henry Levison, the man who developed the first water-based acrylic paint for artists. The brand is now part of Colart, the same Wembley-based group as Winsor & Newton. The markers use the same pigments as Liquitex Heavy Body and Soft Body paints, which is why the colours don't fade.
The 15mm nib is for scale — covering large areas in canvases, customising signage, blocking in mural backgrounds, working on wood panels, or laying down big graphic shapes. The chisel can be held flat for full width or angled for a sharper edge. The pump-valve action means you control flow with finger pressure rather than depending on saturation.
Works on paper, card, wood, glass, metal, plastic, fabric, leather, stone, and primed canvas. The 15mm gets through ink fast on porous surfaces, so refillability is the value proposition: use Liquitex Acrylic Ink to top up rather than buying replacements.
Specifications:
15mm chisel nib • Pump-valve mechanism • Water-based acrylic ink • 16 colours (including Metallic Gold and Metallic Silver) • Refillable • Replaceable nib • Lightfast and permanent once dry • Made by Liquitex (Colart group)
