It is the opening statement of Linda Charles's new ReSouled Pulp collection, and every print in the run is hand-embellished by the artist.
The ReSouled series grew out of a genuine accident. Linda came across a box of vintage paperbacks in her attic; the first cover she pulled out sent a Bruce Springsteen song straight through her head, and the idea of marrying pulp-fiction design to a back catalogue of classic records was born. Music has always run underneath her practice — she paints to it, constantly, in the studio.
Produced as a pigment print on German etching paper, a heavyweight mould-made stock chosen for its soft tooth and depth of colour, in a signed edition of just 25.
