The Drehgriffel - old German for a turning stylus - is LEUCHTTURM1917's own pen, launched in 2020 and awarded the Red Dot Design Award the same year. The Nr. 1 is a ballpoint with a twist mechanism that is satisfying to use in a way that most twist ballpoints are not: the action is clean, the weight is right, and it does not rattle.
The barrel is precision-milled aluminium with a hexagonal body and a brass tip and twist button. 13cm long, refillable, shipped with a royal blue medium ballpoint as standard.
