Wildflowers have a vocabulary of their own, and Kimberley Harris has spent years learning it. The Language of Wildflowers is an original heavy-bodied oil on board — a meadow built up in layered, textured palette-knife strokes until the surface itself carries the depth of the field.
"The process of layering and blending the palette knife work to obtain the right tone, texture and light is so important to me," Harris says of her method. Painted in her rural Suffolk studio and collected across the UK, US and Australia, her meadows capture the true essence of the English countryside.
