Blissful Daze is a 21 x 15 cm original miniature by Kimberley Harris, painted in heavy-bodied, textured oil on board. The publisher lists a palette of blues, greens, purples and yellows, and the subject is the English countryside in flower, the landscape she returns to again and again.
Kimberley came back to painting in 2014, when Suffolk artist David Porteous-Butler introduced her to oils and the palette knife. That layering and blending of knife-work is still how she builds tone, texture and light, and it is a good deal of the reason a small panel like this one holds a field's worth of atmosphere.
