About This Product

What it is
Winsor & Newton Drawing Ink — a concentrated, waterproof ink for fine art drawing and illustration. Formulated from a series of water soluble dyes in a superior shellac solution Fast-drying water resistant and transparent these inks can be used with a brush dip pen or airbrush. 8 x 14ml b

The materials
Drawing Inks use shellac resin as the binder, giving a hard, waterproof film when dry — subsequent washes can be laid over dry ink without re-dissolving it. Pigment concentration is high, producing intense colour. Available in a range of colours plus the essential blacks and whites.

Who it’s for
Illustrators, draughtspeople, and artists who work with pen, technical pen, or brush. Drawing Ink is particularly valued for its brilliance and the security of knowing it won’t lift once dry.

How to use it
Apply with dip pen, ruling pen, technical pen, or brush. Clean tools promptly in warm water before the ink dries — dried shellac is difficult to remove. Not suitable for fountain pens.

Why we stock it
Drawing Inks are a traditional product that serious draughtspeople return to. The shellac base and colour intensity have no equivalent.
