The Cyanotype Postcard Kit is PAR's entry-level format — the same Dutch-designed, award-winning cyanotype process in a smaller box, producing postcard-sized prints (10×15cm) rather than full A4 sheets. A good starting point before committing to the full Fabric or Paper kits.
Cyanotype is one of the earliest photographic processes, developed in 1842 — the same chemistry behind architectural blueprints. You mix the two-part sensitiser, coat the included watercolour paper, place objects or a printed transparency on top, expose to sunlight for a few minutes, then rinse in water. The exposed areas turn deep Prussian blue; the blocked areas remain white. No darkroom needed.
Includes sensitiser, postcard-format watercolour paper (cold-pressed, acid-free, no optical brighteners), foam brush, transparencies for inkjet printing, and illustrated instructions in four languages. Assembled in the Netherlands. Not recommended for under 12s.
