The 3.8mm lead is soft and instantly water-soluble and carries a pigment load that holds up when you add a wet brush. No muddying and no clouding - just clean transparent washes.
Lightfastness sits between three and five stars depending on colour and the leads have a notably high breaking strength for a pencil this soft. Use them dry for fine detail then add water to open up the colour. Works equally well on watercolour paper and mixed media boards.
