Description

Winsor & Newton Artists' Retouching Varnish is a UV-resistant gloss varnish that provides temporary protection for oil paintings that are not yet fully dry. It restores surface sheen and allows the paint film to continue curing beneath the varnish layer.

  • Use prior to applying a final varnish such as Artists’ or Dammar Varnish
  • Quick drying and suitable for use once the painting is touch dry
  • Apply thinly – do not use as a painting medium
  • Available in 75ml, 250ml, and 500ml sizes

Note: As of April 2021, the formula has changed from yellow-tinted to colourless due to raw material sourcing changes. Both versions are equally reliable and safe to use.
