Andrei Protsouk was born in Donetsk in 1961, the son of a photographer and a master embroiderer. He trained at the prestigious Ilya Repin Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, then established himself across Eastern Europe before moving to Australia in 1995. His work fuses Russian icon technique with art deco geometry and a hot-blooded palette — figures elongated, hands hovering above champagne flutes, cityscapes lit by improbable moons.
