About This Product

Super Sculpey Original is the clay that figure sculptors have been using since the 1970s. The semi-translucent beige flesh tone is deliberate — it reads like skin under studio lighting, which makes it easier to judge surface anatomy and detail as you work. If you've seen a behind-the-scenes of a stop-motion animation studio or a professional toy prototype, the clay they were using was almost certainly this.

The formula is softer than Super Sculpey Firm and holds detail without the resistance of denser clays. Smooth, consistent, and predictable across a long sculpting session. Bakes at 130°C / 275°F to a semi-matte finish that sands and paints well.

1lb block. The starting point for serious figurative work.
