You may have noticed that the retouching varnish is now colourless rather than yellow tinted. W&N changed the formula of WN Retouching Varnish in April 2021. The purpose of the modification was not related to the colour but to problems sourcing a material from a supplier. The formula has been revised and it is completely colorless now. Both versions are good and there is absolutely no risk or quality problem with the old (coloured version) that has been the standard for several decades.
- Quick drying.
- Ensure painting is touch dry.
- Use thinly. Do not use as a medium.
